Opposed to legislation requiring coop board to disclose reason(s) for denial. Agree to 45 day processing time.

I have been a lifetime cooperator as have been my parents, niece, nephews, sister, grand niece. It should be clear to you that cooperatives only work when everyone understands their responsibilities as a participant. Money alone does not make that happen.

We live in our coop need to decide who our neighbors will be - not any external organization or political party. Thank you for your consideration on this

This proposed legislation is a solution looking for a problem that doesn't exist. Passing of it will jeopardize affordable home ownership while making money for realtors. Realtors who make a sale and walk away leaving the Co-Op Board of Directors with the nightmare and cost of ill suited shareholders. If the BOL has a need to help, go after slum lords not Co-Ops.

I don't think signing this petition is enough. We must contact our local reps, perhaps by email + phone + snail mail (assuming they don't log names, just count contacts) to express our displeasure with this pending legislation. You can see who the 17 members of the Westchester Board of Legislators are at http://westchesterlegislators.com/legislators.html Click on a legislator's photo / name to learn his/her email & phone contact info.

Gee, you don't suppose that this "Fairness in Cooperative Ownership" law is our legislators' way of showing gratitude for $ the real estate sector contributes to politicians, do you? I'm sure most legislators live in private houses, not co-ops. Maybe co-ops need to band together to present a more united front in situations such as this. We can't count on people who have been rejected by co-ops or those annoyed by how long it took between application & decision to favor this petition. Support will mostly come from board members. As of now, there are just 75 signatures here. 24,925 more needed to reach the goal. (Who set that goal?)

The realtors do not know how much time we put into reviewing the applications. It is our duty to make the best decision for our community.

I am opposed to this change regarding Co-op guidelines. It is unfair to the co-op

This is not a good law. Please do not pass this it will not achieve the authors goal and will increase cost and ill will.

Coop boards must be allowed to function in the best interest of its shareholders which it has been doing all these years. It would be unfair to have to relinquish its autonomy because of external pressures from entities who would benefit from this change.

No To Intimidation. I'm sure county legislators can conjure up more productive ways to serve our communities. Please stop them from fabricating inane work tasks in an attempt to show value in our society.

COMPLETE Application is vital to a Coop Board's deliberations on an application. We often find that the real estate salesperson or broker has no idea as to the conditions of purchase: mis‐stating what comes with the unit (e.g. the number of assigned parking spaces), or other sales hyperbole that has to be clarified, point by point, by the board. Getting to the point where an Application is deemed complete takes TIME, and then and only then can the Board get into the details of the application. The Responsibility of making the Best, Possible, Lawful decision on an Applicant‐‐and the aftermath of that decision ‐‐is taken very seriously by Coop Board Directors. We are VOLUNTEERS. We are on the FRONT LINE. We all have VESTED INTERESTS in the proper governance, financial stability and quality of life of our Cooperative.
