There are little facts to support such a proposition. Where discrimination is properly alleged, existing forums and remedies can adjudicate it.

We give our time to maintain our co ops. The people who make money on the sales are pushing for this terrible law.

This measure clearly favors the realtors eager to get their commissions sooner. Haste makes waste & problems if co-op applicants aren't fully & carefully screened. So I don't want this measure passed and will vote against any politician who favors it.

I want to reserve the right of my co-op to be the sole arbiter of who can live in our carefully and thoughtfully selected community. We have created a culture that must be respected and maintained by the people who live in it. We are not random strangers thrown together hoping for the best. It is only the people who live here, not the people who profit from selling property here who should have the right to craft our community. People who sell units do not live in them. They don't know our community. I will vote against any County Legislator that votes in favor of coercion and the interest of the real estate broker's lobby and against our need as cooperative shareholders to live in peace and harmony with neighbors who share our common goals, strategies, and philosophies.

People are always complaining about the "power" that co-op boards have; that is just too bad, folks We choose to live in a co-op knowing we have decent people around us and a secure living situation. And oh yes, the county likes to receive our taxes!
