The ship has sailed. Once CVS, DD and even Sunoco were allowed to build the Town lost their standing on trying to stay rural. The same can apply to the banks..there is Navigant and Citizens. Does anyone believe that after one was allowed to build that the Town would have prevailed in blocking the other? The Town needs to expand their tax base but in a smart way. We don't need a whole bunch of houses/condos built that come with children that strain the school system. Taxes on a single residence does not even cover the educational cost of a single child in the household..never mind two or three. So the uncovered costs will be spread across current taxpayers that are already overburdened. We need some reasonable non-residential development that generates tax revenue while not straining the schools. If that also means competition for some businesses then that may be a necessary outcome.
