There are too many concerns the various boards have to set waivers for this to be in the town.

Please, no CF, it will put me out of business before I ever get off the ground. Also, CF does not fit in historic theme.

Strange that the ONLY gas station in town wants to stop another from coming to Chepachet! Yet, did he care about the other convenience stores in town when he built his? Cumberland Farms has low prices and quality products, they should be welcomed to the town. Great coffee, pizza slices & hot dogs for a dollar, low priced milk, cheaper priced gas, I could go on & on. Eli just doesn't want competition so he can keep his gas prices high. Times are tough so anytime we can save some money we should be happy! By the way, the petition only has 21 signatures after a month online, looks to me like those 21 are in the minority.

As soon as Eli remodels the Sunoco, C F moves down the street. I support local Businesses.

There are plenty of convenience stores in this area. We do not need another.

Yes there are several small businesses "Fighting for Survival" with this Petition. Cumberland Farms is a Convenience Store/Gas Station/ Fast Food/Coffe Shop all in one.. There are at least 8 businesses in town that will be effected.. including some of theFranchise Businesses.. Cumberland Farms is not "Healthy" competition.. it is a slaughter.. You cannot compete with a business that has all of there own brand of Groceries, Dairy, Bakery and Gas.. In regard to Taxes... Did you see a decrease in your Taxes when CVS or Dunkin Donuts opened? I know I didn't... If you want a ONE Store Town then Vote Yes, Yes. Yes.. If you want to Keep Chepachet one of the few thrivingTraditional Historic Small Towns .. then SAY NO!

Unrealistic is the word of the day. For the record I am a life long Chepachet resident, so were my parents, and their parents. My interest in this town is 100% vested, however the days of "keeping it rural" are a thing of the past. Glocester's tax rate is so far past ridiculous that industry is necessary in order to offset it to the residents. Route 44 is a main thoroughfare whether you accept it it not. The roundabout will NOT cause more back up it will relieve the nightly issues. Most of you are either non tax paying residents or are too hoodwinked by this crook to realize that he doesn't really care about your town. The only reason for his petition is self preservation. If he cared about people of the town he would welcome a little competition (which would force him to stop price gouging), and realize that more industry means lower tax rates! I say YES, YES, YES...100% YES to Cumberland Farms!

There is something we can do! The Town Zoning Board has to grant a Special Use Permit and approve Variances for them to build.. Please call the Zoning Board and tell them NO!

My vote is no.. but alas, comments made by 'anonymous' are the unfortunate truth of the matter. :(

Unfortunately, even though we don't want Cumberland Farms here, there isn't anything we can do. We allowed CVS and Dunkin Donuts... we cannot discriminate against Cumberland Farms. It's going to happen and just like CVS did it'll take down our small town businesses. I feel awful for people like Eli who just expanded his store. This is a decision that should've been thought about before we allowed other businesses to expand into our town. Now it's out of hand and we want to do something about it but it's a run away train and we can't. My opinion, not here to argue about it, just stating my thoughts. They may not be "right" in some people's eyes but I am not here to be "right" just here to support something.
