This is absolutely needed for our community. Whether we like it or not, Helena is only going to continue to be a hot spot for people moving here and purchasing 2nd homes here. We desperately need more affordable housing and smart growth and I 100% believe Sussex Construction would do this effectively and efficiently and their plans clearly demonstrate this.

I am a realtor and it is heart breaking to see friends who grew up here in Helena struggle to become home owners in a city they have called home for their entire lives. Responsible growth is the best case scenario. More housing is not optional it is essential, in my opinion. Our population is growing regardless of our personal feelings. It is irresponsible to expect the situation to resolve itself. Child homelessness is a growing issue, displaced renters is a growing issue. The market won't stabilize if there aren't enough places for people to live. I am not a developer so I am speaking with a lack of work experience but it seems to me like a developer who is willing to put in this kind of effort should be experiencing creative collaboration efforts from the city. I can say with actual work experience that there is significant need. There are a lot of people who are qualified to buy homes and can't compete due to lack of inventory. Those people are living in rentals that people who can't qualify to purchase a home could be living in. This effects everyone.

I strongly support the city of Helena doing everything possible to increase the number of homes in the city limits. Prices are skyrocketing because the supply of homes is not keeping up with the demand.
