Get on with the real business of running the council and providing what few services are left to provide for those that need them instead of bothering yourself with the issue of whether fairy lights should come down or not. It isn't important.

Can't understand why as the Council have never maintained the trees, they should spend the money on Wirral residents with needs?

I’m very disappointed that the council want to remove the lights. The community raised the money and volunteers put the lights and trees up . What is the point of trying to make Hoylake pleasant if the council just want to destroy it? Not a positive way to get local people on their side to support the golf proposal .?

I live in Hoylake and these lights are absolutely gorgeous. They have made Hoylake into a magical place . The council are idiots to want to take them down they light up Hoylake with a lovely warm glow

The lights have cheered up the high street and increase footfall to the local shops. Leave them up, turn off end of Feb, put on for special occasions but don’t waste time and effort taking them down. They’re our lights we paid for them.

The work that has gone into putting the lights up would be wasted taking them down. Just turn them off until December.

These are our lights. Leave them alone, until significant tree growth and pruning necessitates their removal aal

It seems to many residents of 'West Wirral' that the ruling Labour council are dedicated to spoiling business, and life style locally They assume too that they always know best.
