What right have they to dictate how the lights are used?
Did they pay for them, NO!
Maybe they're just trying to cover up and get rid of a reminder, that funding the oligarchs of the councils pension funds is more important than providing important services and brightening the tax payers towns.. Shame on them.

It makes hoylake look beautiful, all my family visitors wish they had the same were they live as councils around the country are not looking after towns and villages anymore due to lack of funds, maybe council bosses shouldn't be paid the huge sums they get, give more money to be spent in our towns and villages!!! After all I pay my taxes just like everyone else to go towards services (which the council are decimating) not bosses wages.

The lights have become an important part of the community the council should leave them and concentrate themselves in other issues that are more important

The council should be worrying about bigger issues for example not enough police in the streets or big housing projects being built in green belt rather than some really pretty lights that make it a pleasure to drive through at night

The lights have been admired by so many people bringing a smile to so many faces , why do they have to be switched off?? So many local people have worked so hard to bring together a community and encourage pride in our village , and it’s worked! Why switch them off?? What are your priorities???

The lights were funded by Hoylake local residents so why is the council interfering with property that does not belong to them. Whilst I am commenting - I went to Royden Park today with my children to get some fresh air and had to get back in the car as I didn’t have money to pay for parking ticket. Ridiculous that local kids are being deprived of this lovely natural area because of the parents financial situation.
