I had a shop on Market St for 4 years and not once did the council come out to "Maintain" the trees. I even rang them once when soiled toilet paper was thrown from a flat above and was dangling in the branches of the tree outside my shop for days. They did nothing. When I rang again they said it will come down when it rains, This was in July.

I love the lights. They brighten up the miserable dark winter nights.
In other European towns they keep the Christmas lights up until spring.

The lights have helped me to have a brighter disposition generally! I truly hope that they don't remove them. My mood is always brightened when I see them!

Between removing the lights and the new parking charges, it appears the council has no desire to support local businesses!!

When I recently visited Hoylake I thought the lights were lovely. They gave a great atmosphere to the village.

For goodness sake..the trees are lovely everyone is saying how much they cheer people up those who live in Hoylake and those who are driving through the village especially as January and February are the most depressive months of the year.
