No to a Wetherspoons pub in St Martins Walk, no to closing the small businesses in order to exist, no to the detrimental effect on the atmosphere and loss of integrity this will bring to Dorking! No!!

This pub will not be suitable for a quiet town like Dorking, I believe it will rip the heart out of our community with all day drinking, crime will inevitably rise as well as the smaller businesses which have been in Dorking for a long time losing their livelihoods, really object strongly to this, we do not want Weatherspoons, horrible pubs

Dorking ha snow need for a chance pub, especially one that would force the closure of independent businesses and threaten the existing public houses in town.

The proposed location for the Wetherspoons is completely unacceptable. There will be problems of noise into the late hours, together with anti social behaviour. Dorking has no late evening police presence to sort out such problems

Enough pubs in Dorking with other vacant sites. I would expect problems with anti social behaviour having a large cheap pub & a football club with visiting crowds nearby.

With such a huge pub based on cheap prices and the anti social behaviour that comes with cheap alcohol it would deter families taking their children to the Library.

The fact Dorking council are even considering this shows what a bunch of numpties they are. Dorking has many pubs already, and do not need competition from a chain that is the home of underage drunken yobs after a cheap pint of Fosters. This would undoubtedly change for the worse.

i don’t want to see local businesses having to close. With the new stadium they will be see more footfall and will offer more original services which is what out town is all about

Why not let wetherspoons take over an empty high street pub? St Martin's Walk is not the right place for it and it will destroy the atmosphere at St Martin's Walk and put people off from shopping there as well as causing potential disturbances by noise for the May local residents.

Pubs in Dorking are finding it hard to keep trading as it is without unfair competition. The location is wrong & viable businesses would have to close to make way for it. Greedy landlords. It’s out of keeping with the rest of the town.

I have not spoken to a single resident that thinks this is a good idea. It will attract football crowds for the new stadium. Residents would prefer a big shop site for a John Lewis / Debenhams not pub that will go bust because no one uses it. Whetherspoons promotes irresponsible drinking through cheap products.

Dorking needs shops not Wetherspoons. We have far to many eateries and pubs are closing down in the town as they are unable go gurn a profit
