There are unused ex pub buildings that are empty in the high street. Why not use those?

Completely inappropriate business for those units and in fact the town itself. Dorking prides itself on having small independent businesses. It's what shapes the town's personality and sets it apart from other towns locally. When the government are actively trying to halt the sale of cheap alcohol I don't think this brand is on board with that particular health policy. Shouldn't be allowed.

This would spoil a quiet family orientated area and no doubt encourage anti-social behaviour which would spill out onto the park. We don't even have an on site police station to cope with further alcohol related crime . If the site is big enough for Wetherspoons then it is big enough for a decent shop, which is what Dorking needs.

There is no shortage of pubs and restaurants in Dorking. Pushing out established and mainly local businesses for this just demonstrates that the owners of St Martin’s Walk have no interest in the town and every interest in their own profits.

Absolutely no to Wetherspoons on this site.
It will totally destroy this beautiful little are,that attracts young families & those wishing to sit quietly enjoying the ambience,whilst having a coffee etc.
Not to mention,the noise pollution from those consuming cheap alcohol & the aftermath of behaviours associated.
This will cause great upset to local residents,fact!!.
So,absolutely NO.

Think of the residents that live behind St Martins Walk. They dont want rowdy drunk people late at night. Dorking doesnt need another pub or restaurant. Dorking needs more high street shops to bring people into the town. MVDC need to modernise the town not bring in more pubs and restaurants.

I have watched Beattitudes grow from day one. It has helped so many families in the community over the past 6 years. Dorking doesn't need another pub and st martins walk is not the right location. Can't stand the thought of a large company coming in and pushing small, local businesses out!!

There are plenty of other empty shops in the town. Why make long established businesses move. It's only a cheapo pub, not a specialist shop. Leave the little guys alone. Dorking has plenty of pubs that are struggling already or that have already closed!!
