Totally inappropriate in our family market town; will result in all day drinking, smoking outside, more traffic and noise pollution. There ate mirevthan enough pubs in Dorking having another giant one with its economies of scale will result in others closing not being able to compete with the giants buying power. Will add no value to the town centre rather detract from it. A definte NO!

i think this is a bad decision as it will bring drinkers into town. whilst Dorking needs trade this is close to the park and is used as a cut through to get there, not only that there is the noise, cigarette ends and general anti social behaviour.

This is a pub too far. At the expense of existing businesses smells of corporate greed. I would not be surprised if those 5 affected are forced out by rent hikes etc.

NO To Wetherspoons - will ruin St Martins Walk. We already have enough pubs in Dorking. There will be smokers and cigarette butts hanging around.

You are sounding snobbish - 'Would not be in keeping with the market town characteristics nor with the tone of Dorking' and 'a nasty anti social element'. You would do better to make your points based on the effect on local business not snobbish disregard for who you perceive to be Wetherspoons' customers.

As a visitor from redhill- I like many visit dorking because of its independent shops and different feel, Wetherspoons really doesn’t fit with its image and it’ll push existing businesses out. I have no desire to walk past smoking drinkers on my way to and from the car park (with my child). I know people visit Dorking from some distance- Kingston- because it is different. Plus the nearest pub has been shut for months, how is there a need for this huge pub?

No to weatherspoobs in st Martins walk. Shocking idea for a lovely walkthrough. Children and family’s should not have to walk past beer smelling smoking adults going to the library or other shops in this part of Dorking. It will kill the town and cause upset for local residents. Dorking has a charm of its own and a Weatherspoons will not add to that

I don't think Dorking needs another Pub to be opened, let alone put where there are some very popular businesses that always look to be very busy and are very well liked by ourselves, friends and family.
There are already a lot of empty shops/spaces that need filling before moving out the thriving, existing ones!
I personally don’t think Dorking needs a Weatherspoon’s pub, given the type of clientele they attract. I would much rather see the powers that be, reduce fees/rental costs on empty spaces to attract a lot more independent businesses to open up in Dorking and get the same look and feel on Dorking High Street as that in Reigate.

With 3 pubs closing on the High Street within the last year. Why not take over one of those rather than force small businesses to move. Alos cannot see this working as The Malthouse struggled for years before closing.
