Feel this is a major mistake, anti social behaviour will be on the up. Other stores will have to out up shutters and there will be glass windows smashed from time to time.
I have lived in areas with wetherspoons and it happens to bring down the region.

There are so many pubs/ restaurants and other eateries in Dorking. Another one is not required but if it has to be, contain it to the High Street where there is a slim possibility that it can be policed.

This is such a lush idea, can’t wait to pay a reasonable amount for a pint.
I’ve heard a rumour ‘they’ are going to change the old Malt House into a lap dancing venue and kick the under used youth centre out!!!

Small businesses should be protected and nurtured in Dorking NOT destroyed by granting planning permision to Wetherspoons. The empty pubs should be used if Wetherspoons are determined to come to Dorking. MVDC should listen to their residents.

We have Wetherspoons in Horley and with the cheap booze there are many fights on a Saturday night.

Burgundy &Black has done so much 4 young people at the Makt House And is a brilliant cafe. The other businesses r great too. Last thing we need is another pub + drunkenness associated with them.

Not a case of being snobbish, but Dorking does not need a Wetherspoons there are plenty of affordable drinking options already, that won't be able to compete with Weatherspoons scale. Like the independent Pet Shops that were lost when Pets Corner/Pets at Home were allowed move in. Mole Valley DC needs to do way more to provide a better range of centrally located retail outlets or the town will die.

Surely St Martin's Walk is a designated public area not a place to have its use changed to being a 'Pub.'

It’s proposed in a family friendly part of Dorking (by library and on way to park). We need to encourage/keep shops in the town area not push them out.
