This will affect the trade of local pubs, other small businesses and encourage anti-social behaviour. No benefit to our lovely town at all.

Dorking needs regeneration but adding a Weatherspoons won’t help. Dorking councillors use your savvy, look at Reigate and how that is thriving.

There are enough shops closing without having them to close. To make way for a pub

I think it is wrong to replace these much needed shops and cafe with a Wetherspoons. Also it could cause long established pubs to close down

We don't need this here and it will dislodge Beatitudes which serves the community...another pub won't!

Cheap boose-anti-social behaviour and criminality will follow. It will tear the heart out of Dorking!

Definitely not! Will not be good for Dorking at all and will attract the wrong clientele. Dorking is a lovely market town with respectful residents.

A combination of a football ground and cheap beer does nor bode well for the peace and tranquility of Dorking. Why don't they move into the smaller High Street pub that is sitting empty rather an ousting occupied shops.

I think the proposed site for Wetherspoons is totally unsuitable due to the potential impact on local residents and businesses in Dorking. When the Malt Shovel was open at the edge of Meadowbank there were problems with some of the customers congregating in the recreation ground after closing time and disturbing local residents.

I am very concerned about the proposed application to allow Weatherspoons into the St Martins Walk centre. We currently appreciate the shops that are there and do not want a further "pub" there which will create the wrong atmosphere in that area and could lead to an increase in crime as well as being noisy for the neighbours, etc.

Having a young family locally I believe the introduction of this into the heart of the town would only have a negative outcome. A lot of money has just been spent to make Meadowbank a child friendly place. Having a wetherspons on the parks doorstep can only encourage drinking to spill out into the park.

Small community focused businesses/ charities like beattitudes and Burgandy and Blacks have seen me through the last year on maternity leave. It would be such a shame to see them go and loose such valuable community resources.

It’s a terrible idea, Dorking is an historic market town not a place for cheap naff drinkers
Unnecessary
