Total Wine is the WalMart of liquor stores. They open a store and price their products with the sole intent of driving out all the smaller stores. Their predatory pricing practices are well known. They would be a blight on the lovely city of Chanhassen. Just say no to Total Wine.

A big box store does not fit in with the small town character of Chanhassen. We have enough liquor and wine stores in Chanhassen for our population.

We moved here seven years ago and love the small town feel of Chanhassen and the locally owned businesses. We are not interested in any megastores, more traffic, congestion and a liquor store in the midst of a pedestrian community. We love the liquor stores that already ready exist Please don't jeopardize their businesses

An important question to ask as a community might be "Do we want vital independent businesses here or just a town of big box stores." Predatory businesses like Total Wine sell below cost until all of their local competitors are out of business, then they raise their prices. The town is left with one store who controls that niche. The idea of competition is lost. The economic vibrancy and diversity of the city is threatened and the sense of community begins to fade into sterility. Please say NO.

Can't have enough liquor stores or too few liquor laws. Trouble here is that this is disproportionate to the catchment area, the traffic capacities and the rest of the city. Growth is good, but if the shadow cast by one giant tree deprives the rest of the garden of sunlight, what is the point?

The traffic congestion in this area is already awful and dangerous.
Adding another retailer that drives "quick hit" purchases will make things significantly worse. We have the right quantity of liquor stores in the community already and they are well spread geographically.

Chanhassen doesn't need 8 liquor stores and the area selected for the building can not support the traffic. It is across from a eldercare facility and some of those residents walk to the grocery store, a recipe for disaster.
