Say NO to the proposed Casino in Forest Hill, Richmond VA

No casino!!!

this site is behind a grocery store & a Target, high school, middle school are in walking distance, neighborhoods are all around all of which makes it a bad location, also there are wetlands to consider - i say no to this site being developed for gambling !

Bad idea all around

I live in the city and work in Bon Air. I drive Forest Hill Ave. every day. I believe that this location would be detrimental to the neighborhoods and cause an already overloaded road to become impossible to navigate safely.

We do not need gambling in our fair city.

As a resident of Stratford Hills, I am absolutely opposed to this casino project. The damage it will do to neighborhoods along the Forest Hill corridor, all the way to Bon Air, will be incalculable. The destruction of these wetlands will have deleterious effects on wildlife and the James River system. Who came up with this hare-brained non-starter of an idea?

I agree with all comments in the petition and add that it is also right down the street from a high school. It is a quiet part of town that embraces the outdoors and a casino is not appropriate.

This is the wrong place for a casino.

A casino has no place in this neighborhood. This area has wonderful residential communities, parks, wetlands all which would be destroyed by bringing a casino here.

I first want to let you know that I join with many Stratford Hills residents in my staunch opposition to the Stratford Hills casino proposal. I agree with nearly all the arguments/comments you have received in opposition as to the inappropriateness of locating this proposal in a residential setting and will not reiterate those concerns here. The following is my assessment regarding the other reasons that this location is not appropriate or suitable. The southern site boundary is marked by the Powhite Parkway (RMTA ownership) along a very busy stretch, which includes the multiple toll lanes, the ramps and signage for the Chippenham interchange ramps, and several office and operational buildings owned by the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA). There is no room along this stretch for any safe ingress or egress access to the proposed casino site. The westbound Powhite ramp onto northbound Chippenham ends right at the railroad bridge along the northern boundary of the casino site. And, the Forest Hill Avenue east exit ramp begins right at this same railroad bridge. There is no possible safe ingress/egress access to the casino site from these ramps. This leaves only Forest Hill Avenue as a possible access to the proposed casino site. The complications with this access are obvious including the existing congestion, traffic patterns, heavy pedestrian traffic and crossings, multiple entrances along this stretch of Forest Hill Avenue, and th

Terrible location. No casino in Stratford Hills!

This is an appalling location for a casino. It is a predominantly residential area south of the city which will be ruined by the traffic, destruction of wetlands, and crime which will inevitable be associated with a casino.

Not appropriate for this neighborhood.

NO CASINO as this location intrudes on a secure and successful primarily residential community that has evolved and prospered for reasons that do not include such a use as a casino. The negative for the community far outweighs any potential positives for the city.
