Say 'NO' to the Hazelwalls Farm Development in Uttoxeter

This development must not go ahead. This is an area of outstanding natural Beauty and is deemed to be Uttoxeter RURAL. I asked the council less than 12 months ago whether we could extend our small house to be told absolutely not as it would impact upon the natural Beauty of the area. It seems that if a development company comes along with enough money, the stance can be curtailed. It is wrong, Immoral, and double standards. Good luck also in calming the traffic on Abbotts Bromley road, which on any given weekend day is like brands hatch!!! I also approached the council to ask for traffic calming measures to be considered. This was also poo-pooed despite most motorbikes travelling at 90 mph along that stretch. Good luck with slowing them down as well, :)

Why are we building on irreplaceable green belt land when a vast tract of land on the former JCB site still sits derelict in the town centre ?

I object to building on designated green belt land. Also the extra traffic generated in the close vicinity of the A518 and the B5013 road junction would be a danger to all road users.

Simply the wrong place to build more homes

The Hazelwalls Farm site is a beautiful area buzzing with wildlife and should be preserved and kept as an asset for the whole town rather than being using as a quick way to line the pockets of the few. There are Brownfield sites sitting empty in the town ripe for development - utilize these fully before encroaching onto irreplaceable Greenfield land. Uttoxeter is a small town and has an infrastructure that mirrors this. We need to address transport and road issues along with over the subscribed doctors surgeries and schools – not just primary but secondary too, and invigorate the town from the centre out before turning it into an empty commuter belt.

That area of the town will be ruined. There are other sites that can be used without destroying an area that is known to be a quieter side of town. What is happening with the old jcb site? There are not enough schools at present, are there plans for a new primary and high school?

This Hazel Farm development is only a part of a much larger plan to develop up to 3500homes in and around the town. far too many homes the town will lose its identity and its culture. all new proposals should form part of a large consultation with the towns people

It's a shame people don't take responsibility for the environment! Yes it costs more and is more time consuming to build on previously used land but it saves beautiful unspoilt countryside, wildlife habitats etc, surely that is worth more

Outrage.

Building on beautiful green land is crazy when there are many brown field sites as well as "green" sites that are close to road networks.

Building on a greenbelt doesn't make sense, what about our children's futures and allowing them to play outside and teaching them the importance of nature! What is being proposed will only create an unhappy community, fat children who know nothing but computer games and pollution from the increase of traffic. No brainer!

There is not the infratructure to support this development and brown field sites nearer the major road network should be used for such development.

There is no need to destroy the greenfield site as there are options on brown field sites in and around Uttoxeter.

As stated already, there is a large plot of land closer to the centre of town that is waiting to be developed and at the moment is a blot in an otherwise very nice town centre. The developers would rather rip up green belt than clear away brown belt land saving them money in the process. If we needed more homes after the brown belt land was developed, which i find very unlikely, then look at green belt, but at the moment its just not necessary.

Building on greeenbelt land is totally unacceptable, this country is quickly loosing all its countryside, I live in a built up area but it's lovely to know the country side is only down the road....it would be criminal to keep building on it please stop

Access to this development would be nothing short of awful. The cul-de-sacs that would be opened up were not designed for the amount of traffic a through-road would bring, and Stafford Road already sends streams of traffic to a busy roundabout. Uttoxeter's town is as dead as it's ever been, the fact that the car parks have been sold off for housing emphasises its decline. There aren't enough jobs within the town and adding a development to the outskirts will only attract those who commute to Burton, Stoke, Derby, Stafford, Lichfield and other surrounding areas - contributing nothing back to Uttoxeter itself. I know that surface flooding is an issue in the area, and seeing balancing ponds on the plans is a worrying sign - the ground can't cope. What's more, with numerous brownfield options available, I think it would be completely inappropriate for this to go ahead.

Awful access and plenty of brown sites to use first. Why wreck our countryside.
