I’m all for progress and development for the greater good. However, this is development without thoughtful thinking for an area already filled with daily congestion, and lack of parking as it is! This is where Metro North rush hour traffic causes all kinds of traffic congestion as it is today, and delays! Imagine adding more shops and visitors during those times! For this development to work I would suggest first to move the train station, and make the bridge a lot wider and moved north of the river more to avoid this new space.

As a resident of Saugatuck these plans will destroy the area with congestion and overdevelopment. I fully support thoughtful development of the area. This is not that.

I strongly believe the Saugtauck Hamlet can be a success, but the recent proposed plan is TOO large and not in line with Westports culture and charm.

We do not need a second Norwalk, preserve the beautiful character of Westport! Aside how should all the additional traffic be manager, whoever put this plan forward should have been stopped right from the beginning, our town needs people with brain and common sense

This will be negative for the environment, primarily the health of the river with oil and chemical runoff and there is no realistic way to solve the massive increase in traffic and bottlenecks. Road expansion to alleviate traffic is impossible due to railroad tracks, I-95 and the Saugatuck River. A totally impractical project

Please maintain a small, historic area without major change in the feel of our town. Where does the historical commission stand on this project?

No to the "Hamlet" plan as it is presented. Not enough info on traffic patterns and how it will effect surrounding areas. The Cribari bridge is already a bottleneck nightmare at certain times of the day.

NO, to the current Saugatuck "Hamlet" plan. Please revise scope and scale to be 60% of the current ask. Cheers.

I do not support his proposal. As a long term Saugatuck resident I fear the traffic congestion from this development both during construction and after will make living here untenable.

We live close to the subject area and see the everyday traffic. We believe traffic would be substantially worse with the added problem of insufficient parking.

I live in that area and the traffic is already ridiculously horrible. I can't imagine what getting off at exit 17 would mean if this Hamlet plan goes ahead as it is now. Please reduce it's scale. I would prefer 50 to 60 percent. Even with that the traffic will still be very very ridiculous.

Over development of Westport and particularly Saugatuck impacts the quality of life for residents,. Increasing traffic and impacting residents ability to travel through town with ease is a major issue.
Westport should not become another o er developed version of Long Island type Delveoper greed. This town is attractive to residents due to the quality of life it offers and charm.

The current proposal will destroy the character of the neighborhood - it's totally out of scale, coming from a place of greed, not need.

Non, no, no, just too big. Will ruin Saugatuck. We have lived in the neighborhood for 40 years, please don’t let this happen.

The project does not reflect the needs of the town. This neighborhood would thrive with housing and restaurants. We don’t need $1,000/might hotels and private clubs.
Way too big
