This not the essence of Westport; just making it into another big city instead of the charming town it is. Besides a build of this magnitude would be harmful to the waterways.

This proposal makes no sense! Saugatuck can be developed without a massive negative impact to the town. Traffic in the area is already saturated at both ends of the day. As noted in another comment, fire protection is already an issue. Additionally, a project of this size will take over Saugatuck for years, with all the attendant construction woes. Take this to Stamford or another city that could support something of this scale, not here in Westport!

I do not support the current plan. It si grossly dipropionate to the plan that approved zoning and create enormous traffic and congestion issues among other things.

This is not what Westport needs… This is simply what a developer wants…all about the money

Out of scale for the town and for Saugatuck. More appropriate for a city. Level of disruption will be huge and in the end this does nothing good for Wedtporters.

TThe town is unprepared to accommodate more residents. Following the pandemic, an influx of families has overwhelmed our community, leaving it significantly lagging in necessary updates to restore its former safety and pleasantness. Traffic has become chaotic, driving behavior is reckless, and our schools are overcrowded and insufficient. Immediate action is needed to address these critical issues. I cannot imagine this town with more housing and people.

The proposal as it stands is at an outsized scale for the area (proportions of buildings is too large and there are too many). It would wipe out too much of the preexisting structures that give interest to the area and to our town, would replace historic charm with too imposing a commercial presence. It could also detract too much from our downtown economy.

As a long term Westport resident who regularly deals with major traffic issues around Saugatuck and parks at the train station I do not support this proposal.

This is too large a scale for Saugatuck.

This development needs to be scaled to fit the community. Rethink the magnitude of the development.

This goes way beyond what this area needs and wants. It’s so excessive, lacks charm and will negatively impact Westport in many ways - traffic, train parking, etc for years while under construction. Quality of life will be reduced for those of us in the Saugatuck area for an indefinite amount of time.
