The area needs to be improved, but too many issues have not been adequately addressed; parking, traffic (which is already a disaster), over-building (including height of proposed projects and additional housing).

This is horrible and ridiculous and has no relevance to our Westport. What about all the water usages.? This charming part of town is Westport!!! It is a nightmare brought on by outside developers with a “ vision” on paper that perhaps belongs elsewhere. Certainly not here. Go away.

This is an incredibly poorly thought out project. The massive increase in density, and resulting snarl of traffic, would make the area literally impassible.

As someone who has lived in Westport 30 years+, Saugatuck is one of the last of old Westport, but the scale of the project will create problems outlined.

Parking and traffic are already bad. I'm afraid to see what this development will do the area without proper redesign of roads and parking. This area is already a bottleneck and easily impacted by an arriving train, issues on 95 or any increase in visitors.

The scale of the project is extremely troublesome, as clearly outlined by the Saugatuck Alliance. The area cannot support the density of the hotel and event space.

This proposal does not align with the town’s capacity or the area’s character, as it is too large and intensive.

Well conceived redevelopment of Saugatuck will have a significant impact on the future of Westport. This text change and the plan presented is too large in scale, is architecturally out of character with the town and proposes an unworkable parking plan.

This project only benefits investors. Westport is not a city, please do something in line with our town’s character. Sadly there have been too many ugly large buildings developed lately. P&Z please take care of us.

Westport has managed to maintain a beautiful balance between the push-pull of commerce and small-town charm across many decades. This “hamlet” proposal seems like an unnatural flooding—despoiling this cherished balance.
Yesterday was the anniversary of our defeat of the British naval assault at Compo; let today be another successful turning back if an occupying assault.
