My kids play soccer and softball on the parade ground, both informally and on teams all year round. I jog around the parade ground several times a week and treasure the open green space and spontaneous community it affords. Many of our family weekend outings are structured around time on the parade ground. And parking near there is already a nightmare! I absolutely oppose this plan to usurp publish parks for a temporary structure that will inevitably leave the park in worse condition.

This project is completely out of scale and would cause permanent damage to our park, the African gravesite and our wetlands. It would exclude visitors from using the grounds for the contemplative activities, running and sports. We do not have the personnel or funding to recover from the damage that would occur as a result of such a large event at our park. My vote is no.

Unfair to the neighborhood and that that use the park. It will cause congestion and totally wasting city funds.

This will destroy our public park and harm our wildlife. Where would all the cars go? How would spectators get there? This idea is shortsighted and obviously not thought out.

My varsity team uses this park to practice and host races at. We would be at a loss without this park in terms of training and having a home race course.

Please do not do this! It’s horrible for nature and consequently horrible for folks living there and it’s not necessary to build.

This PUBLIC park is not suited for this kind of destructive invasion. There is ZERO parking and very limited public transportation. Wildlife would be permanently affected in a very negative way. Local sports teams would be completely displaced. Local children would lose their park. Local seniors would lose their walking track. This lawn is not even close to being large enough for something of this scale. Seriously dumb idea.

The park should not be put out of commission. For the community for a commercial project. The Cricket World Cup is great for NYC but this is not the location - no infrastructure no parking too much damage and inconvenience.

So many people utilize this park on a daily basis, including several NYC schools & colleges.

It would be wonderful if funds were restored to the park… the stadium we have needs repair, the stairs to the house need repaired and even the fence around the house requires painting!

Van Cortland Park is the most famous Cross Country course in America. This stadium will make it impossible to keep the rich history alive

This is a gross over reach and disrespectful towards the local and greater community.

As more information has become available, it's clear that the temporary stadium proposal violates the legal status of parks and creates great inconvenience and uncertainty.

I run at this park all the time, and cross country races use the flats as a major part of the course.
