Say NO to the Temporary Cricket Stadium in Van Cortlandt Park

Absolutely not! I moved into this neighborhood BECAUSE of the park. Apartment life is hard, especially for children.

Absolutely no — leave VC Park as is.

No to the temporary cricket stadium because the greenery needs to be preserved for all.

Even the cricketers don't want this. No environmental impact report has been undertaken. This space is an important resting area for local geese, as well as a delight for people.

Parks are a valuable third space. Taking them away from the community will have a negative impact on the community even if it is temporary

We need this park for our kids well-being!

This is our park- for all of us. The City can’t just decide to use the park for their own devices. We will not surrender the park for years- or perhaps forever.

The community cannot handle this extra burden of increased traffic and the loss of our park - for 7 months!!!

Stop the cricket stadium

Many people enjoy the natural offerings of VC Park, the many species of birds and wildlife. Local leagues use the park, and neighbors use it for exercise. It is beloved public land that will be devastated by construction and large-scale use. Anyone who maintains and preserves the park, uses it regularly, and/or cares for adjacent spaces and wildlife WILL NOT SUPPORT this effort to make money off cherished urban green space.

If 10% of attendees drive, where will they park 3400 cars?

This proposal will have zero benefit to our community and only displace people from using a very popular park used by thousands. It will also increase traffic, decrease pedestrian safety and permanently damage the park.

40,000 people, 80,000 feet and counting will, without a doubt, trample everything, from sheer repetitive human behaviors. In direct path of the building staging area and access paths is the burial grounds of the Enslaved workforce of the Van Courtlandt Plantation; the unprotected African Burial Ground. It is unconscionable to knowingly allow the destruction of this sacred ground.

Please consider Yankee Stadium or Citi Field. The area around the park cannot stand any more congestion. Seriously

A cricket stadium would be a HORRIBLE idea for the neighborhood, people who live here, parking, congestion/traffic. It's already pretty bad, this would make it worse for residents.

We won't be fooled again!

Please reconsider building this stadium.

Leave Van Cortlandt Park alone. Use an existing stadium. There is already enough congestion in the area.
