We would like to change the Waste Minimisation Act (2008) to ensure that the government uses their budget to improve and change the current policy. We are specifically focusing on the damage that single-use plastic has on New Zealand's environment and ecosystem and so we want the policy to change.
We are concerned for the health of our animals and our ecosystems as plastic has continuously made devastating impacts on these aspects of our environment.

I was just staring at the screen and honestly it is overwhelming to see how many people actually care about our beaches and the animals caught in all this plastic trash. I never imagined this would gain so much traction when I started typing this out in a fit of frustration late at night. It feels like we are finally pushing against a door that was stuck tight for way too long.
