Wild deer herds are the birth right of every North Carolinian. Allowing deer farmers to endanger wild deer by potentially spreading diseases like Chronic Wasting Disease is unacceptable and also poses risk to human health. Please veto the legislation moving authority over deer from the Wildlife Commission to the Dept. of Agriculture.

Any sing threatens to have a negative effect on our wildlife population in the state, especially a population that is one of our food sources, must be stopped.

Farming deer isn't favorable to the deer population nor deer hunters and increases the potential for diseases like Chronic Waste Disease.

Stop the deer farms now. I have seen what will happen if there is a minute possibility of an infectious disease spread in the deer herds. I am originally from MI, I have first hand knowledge of what it can do. Stop the market for caged/penned deer. Let the people hunt the same way as I do. 23 years spent in the U.S. Marine Corps fighting for the freedoms of all, and just a handful of people will spoil it for all, for years, and for what...the pleasures of a few who can afford whatever they want. I don't have a problem with the wealthy, just don't try to get to your plateau climbing up MY back. Money should not put YOU at the front of the line...for anything.

I am very concerned about this and the impact it will have on North Carolina's deer herd. I know that it will only be a matter of time before CWD is in NC due to Deer Farming.
