We certainly do not need deer farms in NC. This will have devastating effect for our deer heard. If Cronic Wasting Dease gets started in our heard we are in big trouble. It does not go away. Have your staff look up CED.

It is unwise to risk the health of the resident deer/elk populations to enable commercial venison producers to import potentially infected animal into North Carolina. Please veto this legislation - SB 513. Thank you.

Mr Governor, please look at this issue as a way to contain CWD. Symptoms may not show up in the captive animals for a couple of years. By then it is too late. Once we have it, it remains in the soil for many years. It can then infect numerous other animals.

Governor McCrory, We are sportsmen and NC residents that is very much against the deer farming related legislation that is being pushed by a few wealthy deer farmers. There has been a back door “trick” played to get the “deer farming” deal back into SB 513 after it was properly defeated through normal procedure. Section 14 of Senate Bill 513, the "Deer Smuggler Protection Act," will endanger North Carolina's deer hunting tradition to benefit a few wealthy land owners. Deer farming is proven to contribute to the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). If CWD gets into our indigenous deer population it will have very negative consequences for deer and deer hunting. This is not just hype, do due diligence and research the history of and current status of CWD in America. It is fundamentally wrong that a few wealthy people can do something for personal gain that could negatively impact 1.63 Million Sportsmen and Women! I can promise you that 5 people cannot win an election, the support of hunters can. Do the right thing say no to SB 513! Sincerely, James W. Kornegay Camden, NC

It is inconceivable that ANYONE with a lick of sense wouldn't endanger a sure a multimillion dollar tax paying industry, like hunting and wildlife viewing by allowing disease producing CAFO deer operations just to benefit a few really rich folk.

Gov McCrory, please veto SB513. Section 14 is a dishonest attempt to benefit a few wealthy contributors to a few dishonest Senators. You have the opportunity to do the right thing. PLEASE VETO !

Please Veto this bill. Chronic Waste WILL destroy our Deer Population once it gets into our state. That is the reason there has always been a full ban on importation into NC of cervids (deer and elk). That is because the disease is spread on these "Deer Farms".

The spread of chronic wasting disease through imported deer will ultimately spread to cattle as well due to the shared feeding areas of deer and cattle . allowing imported deer into NC deer farms has the potential to be a horrific disaster to human food sources.

They have thwarted any action on the plight of the Flounder and now they are putting the deer population in a bad position. Who are these people ? They appear not to give a rat ass about our natural resources .
