Say NO to Repo Lot in Orland Park

I love in Brook Hills subdivision. This is a horrible idea, the location of this business will be detrimental to property values, can cause environmental issues, and also safety issues. I vote NO.

There is a school with children nearby. The saturation of the ground with leaking fluids from vehicles is also an environmental concern.

Will distress areas of ours where our kids are growing up

Find some other property to put a repo lot! Repo is the same as a junk yard and we should not to have to look at it or drive by it!

I strongly oppose the repo lot that is under consideration at 171 st and Wolf rd. It will be very detrimental to all of orland park and especially to those townhomes directly across Wolf rd.

This is a beautiful neighborhood of families, children, well kept homes and community spirit. The businesses in the area generate positive values and a feeling of pride in our future. A repo towing lot does not seem in line with building of that strong sense of family values and community spirit. I see this as an eyesore, raising questions of safety in the area and potential to hurt my property values and to scare away other quality businesses in the future from considering SW Orland Park. I vote no on this type of business in my neighborhood. Thank you.

The homeowners in the area of this lot are looking for businesses that support their community, and reinforce their choice to settle in Orland Park. A repossessed car lot is more suited along the car dealerships zone on 159th.street, not a residential neighborhood.

Our corner of Orland Park is quiet and to some extent, removed from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Orland Park. We are surrounded by small farms, wetlands and woods. That’s why we live in this particular corner of Orland Park. This residential area is about peaceful living - not commercial operations that involve frequent vehicle towing at all hours, nor the storage of those vehicles which will disrupt the overall character and quality of life in our community. It is highly inappropriate for this business to locate itself across the street from residential neighborhoods. To do so increases concerns for safety, congestion, and directly undermines the peace and stability families should be allowed to expect in their homes. Allowing this use sets a dangerous precedent that prioritizes commercial interests over the well-being of residents. Please oppose this venture for the sake of our families. The business owner can find more suitable sites for this business. The same cannot be said for the residents that would be forced to deal with the consequences of a repo lot across the street from our homes.

Fix it

A repo lot near your house can lower property values due to increased traffic, noise, and the industrial look of towed or impounded vehicles. It may also raise safety and aesthetic concerns in a residential neighborhood.
