I am signing this on behalf of myself and my husband who regularly visit Borth-y-Gest. Introducing pay and display will make parking extremely difficult for the people who live in the village. Visitors will be reluctant to pay and look for free parking in the streets. When will Councils learn that people want free access to parking facilities. Free parking encourages people to visit, stay and spend. Wake up Gwynedd Council. This is the reason so many high street shops are vacant all over the country.

Have the council considered where the residents that park in the car park because there's no where for them to park

My sister lives in Ivy Terrace and I can never park near her house when I visit her, this will only make things worse. In summer she only uses the car in the evening, otherwise she has nowhere to park.

These charges will only have a negivative impact on this small community reliant on tourism.

Parking charges would not have a positive outcome on this small tourist dependant community.

It will make parking for residents and local businesses and service providers impossible.

Very little parking available for locals and visitors.will cost the locals for the being able to park their cars and put the visitors off visiting.

This could easily sound the death knell for the small businesses/cafes in the village

I have been coming to Borth y Gest on holiday for over 40 years, as a child and now I bring my own children. It will drastically change to feel of this relaxed friendly town if parking charges are introduced to the car park.

If parking charges are introduced this will affect adversely the cafes and restaurants. Customers won't want to pay to park to eat.

This is yet another example of Gwynedd Council's short sighted ineptitude. The economy of this area depends on our visitors, so why discourage them with schemes like this?

It will alter the character of this quiet, welcoming little village.

One of the joys in Borth y Gest is the ability to wander along knowing that you can park without having to find coins, decide how long you're going to stay, have to clock watch whilst eating/walking/enjoying the village.... It would certainly make us think twice!

As someone who has regular home care calls, I need to know that my carer will still be able to park outside my house and not have to pay to leave her car in the car park. There is also the time factor, they sometimes only have 20 minutes if they are running late. I have my friend Georgina's permission to use her email address.
