Currently enjoy the Sea View cafe. If I pay to park the meal is more expensive and I'll go somewhere else

I wonder whether , in the event of parking charges being imposed , the councillors who had made the decision would be exempt . I can just imagine a little badge on the windscreen that enabled these selfless souls to visit the area to check on how things were going , and escape the levy. Just a thoughtl.;,

I am a frequent visiter to Borth y gest.Part of the attraction to this lovely place is the freedom, lack of rules and regulations also the open space surrounding the dock. So now are we going to have lines painted everywhere and notices with machines dominating the village so the local residents will now be lving at Borth y gest car park instead of a lovely historic village.

We have been going to Borth-y-Gest for many years and it might be for an hour or 2 hours just for a walk along the coastal path. We appreciate the free parking and can't see why a fee is needed. By intoducing a fee it will lead people to park on the road where residents would normally park causing problems for them and congestion for everyone else. Please don't spoil a good thing.

This is a nasty money-grabbing exercise by the council, at odds with the wishes of local people.

I am a resident of Borth y Gest, and object strongly. The village has a wonderful welcoming feel to it, and this measure would destroy all of that. Visitors will merely drive away and take their custom elsewhere, to the detriment of local businesses, or park on the street thus making life even more difficult for residents. I also object to the lack of democracy - we have previously let our feelings be known, but the council, hoping we would have gone to sleep, are just railroading this through.

We live about 12 miles from Borth-y-Gest and frequently visit to walk along the Coast Path. Charging for car parking in the car park will discourage us and many others from visiting. We would be looking for spaces in other parts of the village and it would be disastrous for residents and businesses.

I think 50% of the top earners should be made redundant in order to save money as they are not required.

We use the car park regularly and patronise local businesses. The imposition of charges would discourage us and other visitors, to the detriment of the local economy. We support all the other stated reasons.

I strongly object to the plans to install Pay and Display meters in Borth-y-Gest. Residents have problems parking outside their houses as it is in peak season. Car park charges will exacerbate this situation.

Fully against charges for parking in this peaceful spot with no congestion issues.

Please Gwynedd Council do not impose parking restrictions in this beautiful spot. It will deter tourists who are the main source of outside income and upset just about everyone who has to find somewhere to park to go about their necessary business.

We enjoy many a summer holiday in borth parking is a major issue but I think making it pay and display will only make the issue worse. Parking for local residents should be made priority above and beyond anything else, people will see residents parking as easy fix and not think about the locals

I already restrict my use of Porthmadog because of the excessive parking charges at a loss to local business, I don't see why Borth has to suffer the same problems

Genuine consultation with the locals is paramount. They are the ones who have to live with the consequences of implementing parking charges in Borth-y-Gest. Gwynedd Council must not be allowed to ride roughshod over local opinion in its haste to get more money whatever the cost.

Just wonder just how much the council hope to gain after costing all the outlay and maintenance charges. It will have a negative impact in numerous ways. When will the council start charging the use the pavements!!
