Do we really want to have a company within our county who thinks we are "kooks and racists?" I think not. Dr. presidential age demonstrated what he really thought of us, when the vote didn't go his way. Aside from that, I am concerned about the lack of educational resources that we now have to provide free and appropriate educational s rices for the children who would be attending the public schools in the area....not just Mason City, but other community school districts as well.

This issue has produced the greatest unrest I have seen
in my sixty years, living in Mason City.
All the while, you must know,
the greater share of those supporting Prestage, have something to gain.
It’s obvious... from realtors to farmers, and politicians to big business.
The person doing the new ‘reconsider petition’
is family to the man that owns the land.
And they must be paying to advertise it, and their site,
as I see it popping up all over my feed.
Money. Not a good source for unbiased opinion.
And the connections are everywhere, for anyone that opens their eyes...
While those opposed are simply regular folk... with no agenda,
no experience, nothing that bands them together, and no clout.
They have nothing to gain from your no vote, personally.
Their intentions, their concerns, are all for the community, as a whole.
The issue of Prestage needs to be put to rest.
The vote should stand. The turmoil must end.
Council needs to make statements...
and let the public know this issue is closed.
The media and powers-that-be need to quit stirring the pot.
The people need to know that this is ended,
so that neighbors can begin to be neighbors again.

Our water, air and soil are shared and sacred resources that we must all protect from corporate self interest. All Iowans need to unite and fight back against an industry that will take taxpayer money and degrade the quality of life in Mason City and reflect badly on any other potential economic development.

There are health ramifications to CAFOs to coinsder, too, such as: MRSA: "A new study suggests that nearly half of workers who care for animals in large industrial hog farming operations may be carrying home livestock-associated bacteria in their noses, and that this potentially harmful bacteria remains with them up to four days after exposure." - John Hopkins University

Absolutely not, perhaps vote Bill Schickel out come next term. I personally feel some of them are not meant for the council.
No plant
I oppose the pork plant.
