As someone who has played on the Pec team for years and has seen firsthand how important it is to our community, I am deeply concerned about this decision. Not only would it hurt our town's baseball identity, but it could also have a negative impact on kids' playing time and potentially cause us to move up a division.
According to research from the National Federation of State High School Associations, combining teams can lead to decreased participation rates and lower overall success on the field. Additionally, studies have shown that smaller schools often struggle when combined with larger ones in terms of resources and funding.
I urge those in charge of making this decision to reconsider their plans and keep Argyle's baseball team separate from Pecatonica. Our community deserves the opportunity to continue fostering a love for the game among its youth without sacrificing their opportunities or identity.

We’re doing great on our own, we don’t need the co-op. It would just put us up a division, and make our competition more difficult.
Nobody has the respect for Stomman like we do and also it wouldn’t add much depth for us and many would quit due to co-oping with them not to mention less playing time
There is no better feeling being a small school who is a top dog over bigger schools. Combing these teams would take that away from Pec. Small school sports >>> large schools for life!
I agree combining some sports is a great idea but I don't think it is necessary for baseball. Unless we are struggling to field a team I don't think combining the schools, in this sport, is a good idea.
We have enough players to play baseball plus, they are talking to blackhawk about a co-op.
