Allow Cleaners to Dispose Garbage from Overnight Rentals at Convenience Centers in County Limits of Sevierville Without Extra Fees

Owner of a cabin in Sevierville, TN. Our taxes have increased from 25% to 40% this year. That is a huge increase! We feel like with this tax increase we shouldn’t have to pay anymore additional fees to the county.

Cabin cleaners are cleaning the cabins of tourist who financially support Sevier County. The garbage collected from the rentals they stay in should be treated the same as any other garbage in Sevier county and the cabin cleaners should not have to pay to dispose of said garbage.

Fully agree to continuing the allowance of cleaners and other service providers the use of the county trash locations. If all costs keep going up eventually owners will start selling their rental cabins and tourism will take a dive due to lack of availability of cabins. Please keep this affordable for us to provide these homes to travelers.

Greed. Tell us you have no idea about working in the cabin cleaning industry without telling us. Cabin cleaners are literally the backbone of this county. While you line your pockets with all the money you rake in off the hardworking individual's backs to have your beautiful tourist town. Trash has been a huge issue in this town for YEARS and you should've already figured it out by now. We need more convenience centers in a tourist destination. The tax increase you just implemented to str owners should be paying for it. I suggest all who voted "Yes" spend 1 week on our episode of "Dirty Jobs" and see if you don't reconsider. We insist you find a better solution.

We need to give support to our cleaners and allow them access to any way to dispose of refuse, or you are killing the Golden Goose of revenue. By restricting disposal, our cleaners cannot provide the necessary service to our guests, which results in a bad Airbnb or VRBO review. Then our listing are not shown and we lose money. We need to provide exceptional service or we will lose our ranking in the algorithm. We need to be able to help our cleaners keep our properties clean and provide the best service to our guests. Thank you.

To keep taxing increasing taxes is going to hurt the area’s industry. It’s going to keep people from coming as they will be priced out.

We as individuals pay taxes, we as business owners pay taxes, our hosts/owners pay taxes, our visitors pay taxes, this should already be paid for! I say No to this! The commission should be worried about keeping the Smokies beautiful and making sure the garbage is disposed properly this is going to cause more fires, more roadside garbage and potentially less businesses, the which will result in less jobs and more poverty. This isn’t fair and shouldn’t be for Sevier County to get a leg up on the local tax payers Sevier County receives enough revenue that this should be free to our cleaners!

This is going to effect a lot of owners/cleaners if so. We do not need this extra headache! Why should we be punished! We are taxpayers, our owners are taxpayers, and our visitors also pay taxes on food, entertainment & on their housing while in the Smokys! I see trash daily on the roadsides there already isn’t enough dump stations, why isn’t this about property managing the garbage why does it have to be about making the county another dollar and taking from the people who make The Smokies, the Smokies!

Greed leads to failure. It has been proven.

Enough is enough! Our pockets are not bottomless cash supplies for the county.

No fees!

If a fee is charged to the cleaners, this is going to cause a disaster for everyone. Cleaners are barely making a living as it is due to the high inflation and gas prices.

Requesting that all cleaners be allowed to deposit their trash in all local convenient centers. In our current economy it will benefit all parties involved, especially the cleaners that are already stretched thin and spending more money buying gas. Our cleaning industry doesn’t need any regulations that will make a challenging job more difficult!!

I’m my a local and a cabin owner. This county is screwing us over left snd right with all these feeez and such. Our insane tax hike that just happened should goner any other fee they “come up with”. Leave us alone!

This law is fraught with damaging unintended consequences. It hurts tourists, when cleans and turns take longer and fees are passed on. It ignores the extra strain on a tight labor force from extra time. It may force some marginaized and stressed cleaners barely making it out of business. I am a resident who frequently uses convenience centers, and the wait is reasonable. In short, it is a solution in search of a problem that will wreak unforeseen--and negative--consequences.

These cleaners are independent contractors. Don’t impose fees on them.

Please do not impose these changes

Let's not do this for the cleaner's sake. This would have big repercussions to the cleaners. The property taxes are already going up. Let's please think this through.
