With the amount of taxes this county receives it seems they could send trucks to pick up dumpsters on a more frequent basis at the convenience centers that are getting full. It seems that the tax increase from 25% to 40% for these overnight rentals should more than adequately cover the cost of more frequent pickups.

These properties are in the county just as a residence would be with families essentially living there just as a permanent residence would. You will just cause more dumping by not allowing cleaners to take trash off just as families that would live there.

Yes, the trash situation needs to be addressed. Limiting cleaners’ access, when cabin owners pay higher property taxes than residents, is going to have a negative outcome. Common sense, data-driven, collaborative solutions please!

As the GM for a local cleaning and maintenance company this resolution hits hard. Our company covers ALL of Sevier County which includes the Lake area, Highway 66, Jones Cove, Cobbly Knob, and Ski Mountain. Opening just the ONE center will cause MASSIVE problems for the cleaners of these outer areas. Property managers lose money when cleans are behind, long wait lines to dump trash 20 miles away from the cabin you cleaned will cause late cleans, will cause unhappy travelers, and will start hitting people in their wallets. This needs more thought as I do agree, there is a huge issue voer trash in our county.

Please do not penalize our cleaner by not allowing them to dump trash at local dumps or charging them exorbitant fee. Please use our significantly increased property taxes to help with this!!

As a Sevier County resident and a citizen the relies on the cabin industry as many of us do, this will put a hardship on all involved. I don't believe that this resolution passed in Sevier County was thought through it seems like a knee-jerk reaction to an issue that needs a well-thought-out plan. I agree with this petition.

It is unrealistic to expect all cleaners to go to ONE center to get rid of trash. You WILL be increasing bear problems with this plan.

Higher real estate taxes, high hotel tax, inspection fees, higher trash fees….47 % decline in visitors….Guests that do come often feel taken. Time for a deep breath and pause. Does the timing make sense here?

It's only fair that with all the money that Sevier county makes off of taxes of different kinds that we should be able to dispose of the trash from the people who are paying out all these taxes

Rental revenue is significantly down, taxes are increased, adding this additional trash disposal fee places undue burden on the cleaners and owners. Cleaners are already stressed with lack of adequate trash disposal in the area, this places further burden on work flow of the cleaners.

The county needs a second dump- far from town. THAT should be a priority, not making life difficult for cleaners to manage the trash. For the increase in taxes we are paying, garbage pickup and disposal should be included!
