We already pay taxes and shouldn't have additional fees! Not to mention this is encouraging illegal dumping that will destroy the environment.

I clean cabins all over Sevier County and it would be absolutely impossible for me to go to the landfill every time to drop garbage and vacation rentals are the bread and butter of this County you already make enough off of the tourism without taxing the owners for dumping trash left by guests.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle!!! Two Thirds of the trash is recyclable. I personally ran a recycling company on the east end of Morristown for years. The amount of money to be made on all of the plastic, glass, cardboard, and aluminum that is sent to the landfill is money wasted. The fact that this is not enforced or encouraged for all tourists and all companies in town is embarrassing to be this close to our beautiful Smoky Mountains.

The activation of this new clause has not only cost more money for my owners and my cleaners but it has also slowed the amount of time it takes to finish multiple properties. As a small business owner we pay our due share of taxes every year to the state , county and city. There is more than enough money brought in by tourism to cover expanding the local convenience centers, " According to past news the city of Pigeon Forge was supposed to install a new larger center off Wears Valley Rd. on White Falcon Rd. .... To have all of the cleaners in the area to drive to one convenience center is obsurd. There are far too many existing cabins and new developments being built for one center to handle the amount of trash accrued by tourists spending tax dollars. There has been an issue with the influx of tourism trash for five years. This is not the answer. Also recycling could greatly diminish the amount of actual garbage that has to be disposed. We are in a national park area and should suggest to our visitors to please recycle the only convenience center in the area that has recycling available is on the outskirts of town. We can do better, we should do better.

We are land owners in Sevier County just like other land owners, therefore we should be able to use the same facilities as other property owners. We should not be singled out.

This would be very bad for our community as we have enough litter! These cleaners work paycheck to paycheck can’t afford to pay to dump trash! That is included in our cleaning fees! I vote you open dumps for cleaners separate destinations with multiple compactor our landfills can’t handle the trash?

Let's not alienate cabin owners who are supporting the local economy, they are tax payers like the rest of us

The county should it make it easier, and more convenient for garbage disposal - not the other way around. Otherwise trash becomes less likely to be disposed of properly.

Do you honestly think all cleaning companies in the area will abide by this new rule? I can see many problems w/this process. The cleaners are just trying to make a living and I know they simply don't have time to go to one location, nor the money to pay to dump the trash (which leads to higher prices for owners, passed on to guests-who are dwindling for the first time in a few years). Long lines, cheating "the system" along w/ dumping trash in the woods, on empty lots, etc., which will impact tourists' opinion of the area cause more bear issues. And of course this will cost more $$ to clean up the mess.
I know everyone is trying to squeeze what they can out of the goose that laid the golden egg, but the egg may be rotting with the new enormous tax increase, the current state of the economy, the fact that the STR business is showing signs of slowing down (at least for the short term) after the "banner years" of Covid and the frenzy of overpaying for properties that some may soon not be able to keep, and now this absurd idea to charge to dump the trash of the people who keep this county afloat?

Our cabins are spread all over Douglas Lake. My cleaners spend hours each day driving between cabins and trying to dump at the convenience centers they have now. To tell us they all have to go to Risge Road to dump when their vehicle is full. That's ridiculous as well as these fees the cleaners will have to pay up front before they collect it back from anyone whether it's a guest or owner or management company. Sevier County needs to re-evaluate who we have elected into these offices. They dis not do as the will of the people of their county /district asked of them.

Reuse, Recycle,Less waste should be the mantra. Make it expensive to buy plastic bottles, charge fees for extra cups, and make it hard to waste.

The city relies on tourist to travel here and spend money. The only way they can do that is to have a place to stay. The only way to have a place to stay is to have cleaners. Why punish cleaners when they are the key to making the whole thing work.
