Overpopulation of human beings is making this probable - only have kids if you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want them!

Risk the nesting grounds of the Eastern Shore? Smother hatchling sea turtles off Back Bay? Further pollute the Chesapeake Bay and destroy our oysters and crab industries? Put tar balls in our tourists' mouths and knock out VB's revenue? We are messing with something truly precious, and when it's gone, it's not coming back. Vote NO to offshore drilling.

Don't risk our city for fossil fuels that will raise the sea level even faster.

Virginia cannot afford to drill offshore! Tourists in Virginia beach will not like this and that will not help our economy. Plus, the military does not want to maneuver their ships around oil rigs. Do not ruin our beautiful coast. We can't afford a disaster like the BP oil spill.

I am for alternative energy such as solar and wind. For a state that prides it self on great seafood and coastlines, it would be STUPID to bring oil and gas to only ruin it.

We are decimating our forests and wild spaces, selling off our national parks to the highest bidder, fouling our air and water. Enough! No offshore drilling along the Virginia Coast. Please, let's try to keep some of our waters clean.

Thousands of tons of un-exploded ordnance are in the ocean from Navy dumping every war since the Civil War can be triggered just by looking for oil.

I understand the benefits to this, but the damages far exceed them.

we need to be building renewable energy facilities not continuing to destroy our planet looking for more fossil fuels. The money for one can be used for the other. There is no excuse for Council's previous action. And do not even start with that foolish jobs mess.

NOAA, the DOD, NASA/Wallops Island, Tourism Industry & many others have expressed opposition. Don't drill!

This is a national Issue as well as a State wide issue. Local city councils should not endanger the lives and living conditions of the entire population and its environment!

Beyond the risks associated with offshore drilling, where would the gas or oil go? Transportation and processing are the very kinds of heavy industry Virginia Beach has avoided thus far. Please don't risk our current businesses for this.
