Offshore drilling is still too dangerous to our environment. There is no absolute protection from accidents and one would devastate our local economy. Also, I am not convinced that the oil business will provide a lot of benefits to our local economy.

As a citizen of Louisiana. You have no idea what you are in for if you open your coast up to drilling. You cannot even imagine. daily spills, lax regulation, no money for oversight. The industry will chew you up and spit you out. They will deceive you, they will lobby your legislators to the point of near corruption .
There is no up side.

Native of the VA coastal area and do not want offshore drilling anywhere near my hometown or state. It's absolutely not the answer to any of our energy needs in the 21st century.
Our oceans and marine life have enough problems as it is...

As a responder to sea turtles during the Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill, I witnessed first hand the devastation caused by spills. Drilling is not the answer.
