The Deep Horizon spill should provide all the reason anyone needs to oppose drilling off the coast of Virginia, specifically off the coast of Virginia Beach. A spill here would be a kill shot for Virginia's economy effecting everything related to the water. A major oil spill would drive the oil all the way up the bay.

The madness has got to stop!! Drilling for fossil fuels is dangerous & irresponsible. Investing in clean energy is what this country needs to focus on. You can get just as rich off solar & wind energy, trust me. Let's be a leader in this & stop being the greedy, uncaring SOBs that everyone knows us to be. Get with it America!

Off shore drilling is killing our ecosystem. Hasn't there been enough damage done to our Mother Earth? Please do not allow this here or anywhere. It's also not good to tap into the earth's core. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. DON'T DO IT.

Offshore drilling is bad for the environment and bad for tourism in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake areas. After the BP spill more than 170 dolphins along the east coast U.S. beached themselves and died. Try putting BP oil on your food every day and see how long you live. A windmill farm off the coast is a better alternate. Fossil fuels are the past and the future is not old fossil thinking companies. Invest in wind or solar power instead. Thank you for your time.

I have lived in Va. for 56 years. Homeowner at the beach for 30 years. Please no off shore drilling ! Look a Denmark & other countries they are all going to Wind Turbines - It's the way and never any chance of oil spills or polluting the waters. There are other ways ! Exxon has already proven what can happen .

Offshore drilling is still too dangerous to our environment. There is no absolute protection from accidents and one would devastate our local economy. I am not convinced that the oil business will provide any benefits to our local economy.
