Dear Beaver Creek Parents,
The School District appreciates the input received about Mr. Suniaga and has received new allegations that will be investigated. While we investigate the new allegations, Mr. Suniaga is being placed on Administrative Leave and will not be reporting to work. Some of the new allegations came from people with firsthand information and we will be interviewing those people. However, some of the allegations are general in nature and what can be described as “hearsay.” If there are people who have witnessed or been the victim of any inappropriate conduct, we need to talk to such people so that we can act on the information. Under the legal process under which the School District must operate, we cannot rely on rumor, hearsay or second-hand information. We invite anyone who is a witness or a victim to contact Sharon Standish, Director of Human Resources, at [email protected].
I assure you the first day of school will be enjoyable since the entire staff is ready and excited to welcome new students and see returning students. We have a former DASD Health & PE Teacher serving as a substitute on Mondays through Thursdays and a different qualified substitute who we’ve had a Beaver Creek before filling in on Fridays.

Yeah I don’t feel comfortable with my daughter attending BC now. This is what they do with the sick priests... transfer rather than fire.

Why does there have to be a 4th incident before, he is fired.
Please don't allow him to be around children.
DASD is putting the monetary concerns over the safety of our children.

Though not a parent of a student here, I am a parent to 4 children who are (or will be) attending school at Shamona and the fact he was even a consideration is appalling and concerning.

Whether this are allegations or not , anyone who may even be questioned on this matter should not be working around children no matter what age. There are lots of people with teaching degrees, look elsewhere !

The parents (taxpayers) have a right to know what exactly he did in order to be in this situation. Anything other than full transparency is unacceptable.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you would take a person out of his position with children,because of misconduct with students, and move him to a school with even younger children. What were they thinking?

My daughter was in one of his classes at MC this year, she said he asked the girls during a health discussion to raise their hands “if they were shaving yet” she said he compared girls in the class and not in the class on stages their of development. I reported all to the principal.

What, exactly, did this teacher say/do wrong? Maybe a student noticed the difference - that's about the age kids become "curious" - and asked for an explanation. If parents did their job, schools wouldn't have to explain this stuff. Also, it was in health class. Wait till they get to high school biology glass and learn about sex.

If you can’t fire him because you can’t prove it, then he should be relegated to shredding files over 7 years old and making photo copies, in a room, in the basement, where no student interaction can take place. End. Of. Story.

My husband and I moved 6 years ago to DASD to provide a SAFE environment of higher learning for our children. We are extremely disappointed this year! I do not feel comfortable with Mr. Suniaga in our school.
