There is no reason or excuse whatsoever to put our city’s future which is our next generation under any physical and/or mental potential risks. The city would be doing a right thing in a wrong way if you put the mentioned modular buildings opposit road of schools.

No modular housing near schools. Consulation with residents required and democratic and transparent process a must before any decisions made by the city.

The location of this shelter is inappropriate. City hall is locating this transient population of people with their medical, social and psychiatric issues, within a stone's throw of our society's most vulnerable people, our children at Laurie Elementary, Churchill Secondary and Ideal Mini School. It would be a terrible influence on our young children and teenagers. There are no resources for the people at this shelter. There are no food or convenience stores, no restaurants, no social outlets for these people, no social workers, no medical workers. Transportation is limited to the bus. Our Marpole Neigbhourhood is a safe place for our young families, our elderly, and our young people. We feel safe walking the streets in the evening. Please do not take this enjoyment and security from our neighbourhood. We are tax-paying citizens of this city. Our rights, our safety, and our enjoyment of homes must be considered. We are voters. I strongly urge city council to reconsider the location of the shelter, to a more appropriate location, where the residents and children in Marpole are not placed at risk. And the shelter population has access to food, medical, social and guidance resources. This location is the WRONG LOCATION for the shelter. Let's ask city council if they would consider placing the modular housing next to their children's or/and grandchildren's school yards? Consider our right to be safe in our neighbourhood, in our schools, and in our homes. Our children, families, elderly deserve this.
