Stretching the relationship with neighbouring communities in the name of forcing progressive ideals without considering the circumstances is going to be harmful in the long run. If you want to successfully integrate these housing projects in the short and long term, you need support from the community. I hope they realize this.

Absolute buffoonery! Just because the city didn't plan well, now they're trying to patch up their problems with band aid solutions that may have negative consequences for the schools in the neighbourhood? They're trying to plant these "temporary" in this case, high rise buildings like trees. That's not how it works, especially with the lack of consultation with the community in this case. The housing advocate in the Vancouver Sun article is full of excrement.
“It’s fantastic. I can’t imagine what kind of problems people are worried about. I’ve never noticed anything,” said Oleksiuk." "Oleksiuk happens to be a former student of one of the three Marpole schools residents are rallying to shield from the project. He said he would “have been embarrassed” by anyone advocating on his behalf against such a project. Oleksiuk did not support the idea of delaying the project for further consultation."
Sounds like someone with a vested interest in the housing project over the well-being of the neighbourhood? So much for taking both into consideration.

Saying NO! Will there be a town hall? All the parents of children in the schools need to make their voices heard now, loud and clear... NO, I will not allow you to subject my children to this!

Safety, crime, location, children, developer and tax breaks. Someone isn't thinking here. Pulling a fast one on any community that will take it! ANGRY! Vehemently oppose! Enough is enough!

Seriously oppose, what is City Hall thinking? This is in the middle of a bunch of schools. Consultation be dammed, like all the community plans for rezoning and fueling land assemblies. Residents hear after the decision. Isn't it a little late? City staff with no stake in the game draw up a plan, then consult later. This is the current council for you, only cares about public perception and "meeting goals". Those making the greatest amount of noise wins. Complaint about this using their Vanconnect app!! They keep track of it.
