The current city planning going on in Vancouver is abominable, with zero thought being given to maintaining the existing communities. A project like this makes no sense next to a school. Officials must be held accountable for their poor decision making! Do not allow this to continue!!

No, no, no! This is hugely undesirable for the safety and comfort of the neighbourhood. Think of the children. Drug users and homeless people do NOT have a right to live in any neighbourhood the mayor WISHES. That's not how this works.

Homeless people are people too, they are not necessarily dangerous to school children, but instead, the dangers are from those parents of school children, who are fearing of falling prices for their properties, with the child's excuse to obstruct everything that is unfavorable to themselves. Homelessness is part of society. Determining the future of disadvantaged groups in such an online petition manner, itself is an injustice to vulnerable groups.
City Hall should not be intimidated by those online petitions.

Modular housing is great, I think the location or the mix of medium to high level patrons in proximity to a school is a major issue.
The city could put families or lower risk patrons in the modular homes or OMNI could move the site to the other end of their 24+ acre parcel of land.

Why put modular housing near schools in one of the most expensive areas in Vancouver? Really bad idea. Mayor would you want to have that near your children's schools and have your kids potentially be exposed to needles, drugs and addicts? I think not so why should we?

Totally agree!homeless should be taken off streets,,,they sit in front of buisnesses,not fair for buisness owners who depend on foot trafic,have to pay buisness taxes,etc...

Wrong location. I work in area where Level 3 Housing has been set up. It is not a healthy place to be in.

Housings are in need of course; place them next to schools and or next to families is not appropriate. These people need lots of help, they need professionnels to work with them constantly; families with children needs to be reassured.
It is a very serious problem that needs to be adressed in a proper way.

I believe this to be fundamentally and morally wrong. When ambulances are called, a man is lying on the ground getting chest compressions, and the schools face yellow lock down alerts when intruders enter, Vancouver will known for something it will regret, lives will be ruined, and the world will be watching.

Children do not ever deserve to be put at risk at the hands of an adult and in this case the Mayor.
It is our civic and moral duty to safeguard children. This crossed the line.
