Say NO to re-zoning, YES to re-vitalizing

Lets protect the rural areas and bring community living into downtown Freeport's main street instead ... get rid of a town center thats a dead mall ... lets think out of the box and envision something other than retail shopping for our town.

KV enterprises does not appear to have Freeport commerce nor citizens in mind at all! Please limit their requests to go forward with their plans!

I am against this project in its’ current form.

Put money into sprucing up downtown...not adding unsustainable housing.

Too bad, I'm not against progress for our town and affordable housing. There should have been a high level comprehensive plan about infrastructure just to show people they have a plan for increased population, and get some buy in.

This major project conflicts with the Town's Comprehensive Plan. It should not be approved.

I feel Freeport needs to retain it's rural character, with abundant open space and public recreation opportunities, as well as work toward creating a more vibrant town center.

Homes with 2.5 acres each respectfully how every other new subdivision is required.

We don’t need more residents we need more jobs and we don’t not need to help L.L. Bean anymore with further tax breaks and benefits—- no more free LLBEAN wealth

I have previously written an email expressing my concerns about the planned development and rezoning.

Rezoning the LLBean property will forever change the rural character of our town and violates our Comprehensive Plan. As a retiree of LLBean’s Outdoor Discovery department, it also violates the company vision “Be An Outsider”.

Rezoning Freeport would destroy the character of this beautiful town which I have adopted as my home for 27 years!

I am completely opposed to this development in every aspect.

Zoning ordinances are a statement of a towns wishes and plans. A development that requires a massive change to zoning is by definition not in line with the town's stated wishes. Such a plan cannot be approved without a much larger conversation and a vote to amend those ordinances in which the citizenry can thoroughly have its say.

The request for re-zoning for this laughably outsized project is solely in the interest of KV Enterprises and L.L. Bean, and it is decidedly against the interests of Freeport and its current and future residents.

To suggest that an attempted zoning change enabling a high density developer to increase Freeport's population by up to 30% is in any way beneficial for the residents of Freeport is laughable and frankly offensive. This is very plainly 100% financially motivated for Optimum Construction in Portland (KV Enterprises), and nothing do to with the legitimate housing needs or wants of Freeport residents.

I believe it is essential that we preserve the beauty and habitat of this land and not sell to big developers.

I am so sad that LLBean would even consider selling this land for development. I am vehemently against changing the zoning regulations for this development.

We need to stick to the long term goals if the comprehensive plan and current zoning for what residents want long term, rather than being responsive to developer needs.
