NO to one lane of traffic - I ask the Mill Valley City Council to honor the community-approved Miller Avenue Streetscape Plan and maintain two lanes in each direction on Miller.

Common sense, particularly in light of increased traffic, should be the rule here. Two lanes both ways is a no-brainer. Why cut down lanes. Makes no sense at all!

Please honor the Mill Valley community's wishes to maintain 2 lanes of traffic in each direction on Miller Avenue. Your proposal will create a traffic nightmare.

Such a drastic revision of the work of all those who were asked to study the issue is unwarranted. This will increase congestion for those who use Miller regularly.

The City Council should follow the original plan for Miller Avenue. The traffic entering and exiting downtown is overwhelming already. Don't make it worse

2 lanes of traffic in both directions should be maintained on the full length of Miller Ave. It is a crazy idea to reduce to one lane with the traffic problem as bad as it is!

Surveys have shown traffic is the Number 1 concern of Mill Valley residents. Reducing a roadway by 50% clearly will not facilitate the flow of traffic. If a major fire on Mount Tam were to occur, there is no way for people in the downtown area to safely escape as the roads are currently. Less accessible roadways means even fewer will survive.

Thank you for putting this together. I am concerned about fire/earthquake safety. I don't understand how Miller Ave can be made into one lane streets with out an effective public transportation system.

10 years of developing the design to upgrade Miller Ave.
Stick to the plan! The always increasing traffic in MV will continue to be a problem on E Blithedale with one lane on Miller. The planned two lanes will encourage more drivers to use Miller Ave. That will lead to more business for our local store owners. A one year "test" of one lane is doomed to fail. Why bother? Do you want to develop MV for now and into the future, or not?
Stick to the plan!

My earlier letter to Council persons regarding the proposed "by-pass emergency / short term reconstruction plan to accommodate a change:
10- years study and adopting of Miller Avenue Plan change to
use of residential neighborhoods "cut through" for traffic of Willow Street to Millwood Mill Valley is wrong policy.
Dangerous for residents enduring even temporary re-routing, large trucks, constant traffic, parking limitations, and established residential zoning for protection of home owners; children and pets are reasons to reject this "new" change on behalf of new neighbors and Lumber Yard new uses on this Room accesses of the Miller Avenue plan.
The "Cut through" traffic will make difficult for necessary street parking in this older neighborhood increasing difficult with tourist, commercial access to East Blithedale / Throckmorton commercial areas and West Blithedale accessed residences.
Public health consideration of adverse impacts of constant exhaust and vehicle noise was not considered in this recent change request. A temporary emergency change made permanent without sufficient evaluation for the long considered Miller Avenue room decision made after the considered Miller Avenue Planning process of 10 years to accommodate a few new neighborhood voices is wrong policy.
