As a '07 alumni, kids safety should come before celebration of Heritage. Hobo day can be days before the 31st. Sad day to be Big Blue. ..

I have a small child and think it would be too dangerous for him to be out of Hobo Day is on Halloween. It’s not fair to him and all the other children of Brookings.

Think about the kids on this day. Rarely happens on a Saturday. All the drunk drivers and drunks out on foot. Not something I want to deal with or have my children have to witness!

I am a resident in Brookings County and have a small child. I have seen first hand the behavior of SDSU Students and SDSU Alumni on Hobo Days and it is absolutely something I would not want my child to be out in. SDSU takes up several blocks of Brookings and it’s students rampage the whole town, neighborhoods where residents have lived, longer than a 4 year student. Not everything revolves around SDSU.

I am a Brookings resident, SDSU Alumni, and a Teacher with Brookings school district. SDSU needs to take responsibility for the behavior of their students. This is a terrible idea.

This is wrong. Dangerous and selfish of SDSU.

This is a huge day for my church to host a ministry for trick o treaters . ALSO, After previous SDSU riots I dont think it's a good idea to put businesses and residences near the "wall of shame " at risk

This is rediculous, unsafe and poor management. This communiity should not have to be held prisoner to SDSU

The college kids are out of control and I can say that confidently as I am a current student. Nothing will end well if SDSU allows college kids to party excessively while children are trick-or-treating.

Halloween is a fun day for the kids in our community. SDSU can have it another day. They have had it earlier like in September awhile back. Why not do it again.

Partying college kids happen all over town as it is. Hobo day partying is significantly more popular with college students as well as Halloween partying. I feel it will be even more dangerous and difficult for families to be able to enjoy the festivities. Property damage is already a problem due to college kids, I feel it will also be worse if this happens.

I live outside of Brookings, I also own a business. I have kids that go trick or treating in Brookings. I will not be supporting this event or any other SDSU event.

It will be so dangerous for children with the college students drinking and thinking they own the town...

Brookings resident and SDSU alumni. Hobo Day is NOT more important than children enjoying a holiday.

Mother of two young girls who go door to door on Halloween. If the date is not changed we will be leaving town to enjoy the festivities in a safer community.

This is unacceptable. It's really not that hard to move dates around to accommodate this one day. This is a family holiday. Making the Homecoming game on this family day is rude. You're either going to lose money from doing this or you're going to have way too many people mad about this. More than likely both. It would be dangerous to have Hobo day on Halloween. It's already dangerous without it being a family holiday. But now there will be kids and more family out to try and celebrate this day. It is going to be ridiculously dangerous on this particular day due to people already drinking cause it's a holidy and now it'll be about 3x worse cause it's a Hobo Day. Come on. Dont be ridiculous. Let families have their holiday in peace and fun. Not scared and on edge.

I know SDSU thinks they are the most important part of this town, yet they are not very good about always supporting the community they are in. Think about the children who might one day go to SDSU and the parents of those kids. Probably not a good business model to drive potential customers away.
