Hobo day and halloween on the same day is insane. Cause the community is being pushed to the side for drunk college studentsl;of which 75% of dont pay any taxes to this town.

As a recent alumni of SDSU, this is a TERRIBLE decision. I love hobo day, but this is unfair to the town of Brookings.

This should not be a thing and everyone knows it including SDSU. They need to respect the families of Brookings and change the date of Hobo day.

"A request to the Missouri Valley Football Conference was rejected to remove or change the Oct. 31 date. The request became an insurmountable task as it would impact 10 other schools and their football schedules next year. Playing the game at Western Illinois would alter the conference schedule to mean our football program would have only three conference home games with five on the road. It would also create a scenario that would deny our student-athletes, campus community and football fans a home game over a five-week period."
So go tell the other 10 schools how upset you are

Absolutely not on this day. But knowing SDSU they don’t care. They are just going through the motion for the public eye.

I am a mother of boys who enjoy Halloween but I also live a few blocks off campus so my holiday decor gets trashed or stolen anyway... not to mention the vandalism, clutter & trash at my home during Hobo Days. SDSU needs to take accountability for their students outrageous behavior and consider the citizens of a town that supports them!! A Hobo Halloween is completely unsafe for everyone, especially our trick-or-treaters!! You will lose business, revenue & respect if the date is not moved. Keeping it on Oct 31st, 2020 is completely selfish!!

This is a ridiculous idea. Take that time away from the kids. I think it's selfish and stupid to even consider something like that.

I'm a bartender, and I know how crazy people get on Halloween, and on Hobo day. They should not be combined.
