I dont want Brookings kids tripping on beer cars and stepping on darts while trying to get through the yard parties so they can trick or treat.

It's already pure chaos adding costumes to that list seems very purge like.

Looks at the arrest sheet for the Sheriff's and police office's. It is very dangerous to mix Halloween and Hobo Days. SDSU cannot make it safe.

After all the DUIs for Hobo Days this year NO. Children should not be exposed to ruthless, irresponsible, intoxicated idiots. Move Hobo Days, keep the ball game.... because you can. Money whores.

Dangerous is only one factor. The businesses in Brookings can only gear up for one event - HOBO Day or Halloween. Very difficult to be there for both at the same time. Besides, Halloween is about the kids, not stupidly drunk college students.

The poor children who have to weasle their way around block parties and booze-filled 18, 19 and 20 year olds. Not right. Change HOBO DAYS to OCTOBER 10!

I have been a small business owner in Brookings since 1997 as well as owned a home across from the SAE fraternity house for 13 years in the past. That was my home the year they had the riot. Our home was damaged, our cars were damaged and my children were scared to death. Over the course of the years we would prepare our home the way some prepare for a hurricane. I sold my home years ago because we were tired of being pushed out of our own community. This past HOBO days, even pillars of the community complained of the damage to their property from unruly kids breaking off tree's and damaging and steeling things from yards. This is not something that is isolated. For the first time in over two decades I had a bar owner tell me they were seriously considering closing their bar for the weekend because the damage they get and the stress on employees isn't worth the money. It's time the City of Brookings has the balls to step up to SDSU and put them in their place instead of bend over and take it just for a dime. HOBO days historically will have young people drunk on lawns, with beer cans piled high and mouthy young people yelling things no child needs to hear.

I am a parent of an 11 year old we reside in Volga. However, we always go trick or treating in Brookings. Hobo day on Halloween is not safe for our young children or the parents driving then around. Most people killed in drunk driver collisions are the sober people.

I am a mom of 2 kids and can not letthem trick or treat on halloween due to the amount of drunk college students there will be all over town next year. Every year the people of brooking hide in the homes over that weekend to let the college students celebrated hobo days. But the people of brooking who live here year round need to be able to celebrate halloween with their family's without the worry of someone hurting their family.

I am a SDSU alum and a Brookings resident since 94. I have two young children who look forward to going out into the community on Halloween. Next year they may not be able to do two decisions outside of our control. I have celebrated hobo and been a non celebrator. There is too much chaos and it is not safe on hobo weekend. Many people do not leave their homes that weekend because of the student and the potential for danger flash drunk drivers. It is sad that hobo weekend has turned into a four-day party full of vandalism and alcohol. I remember when it actually used to be family friendly.
