Hobo days shouldn’t be on Halloween! Our kids deserve to have a safe evening so that they can enjoy themselves.

I think the city council should be forced to vote on this so all voters know who they need to kick out next election. I think its all about the fact that daylight savings time also happens that weekend. Big money for the bars with an extra hour of drinking. Also, it means probably drunker than normal people, including drivers. Imagine your kids walking the same streets as the drunks. As a bouncer in the 90s during a halloween Hobo days, it was a mesa trying to check IDs, and chasing down and identifying troublemakers. They have a USD- SDSU game 2 weeks before that would make for a great hobo day.

The decision is up to the school not the summit league. The league and board of regents have nothing to do with it. It's SDSU that makes this decision. They should not be in control of our town. The students are guests in our community. SDSU needs to remember that and show some respect to the citizens of Brookings.

We all know what happens to this town on Hobo Day weekend. This community has put up with SO MUCH, it's time SDSU showed some real, tangible support for Brookings by not endangering our children on Halloween.

Safety of children should be before drunk and party going college students!

I live in Brookings and have most of my life. Moving hobo days is the smartest this SDSU can do. The adult children that we call students at SDSU have zero common sense when it comes to this weekend.

Brookings is so worried about getting income from the event, they forget about the safety of our children.

I’m appalled that they think the community will be even remotely safe if they go through with having Hobo Days on Halloween. Game can also be sometime in November. It’s been done before.
