ALTECH Drilling and Investigative Services Ltd is in the process of completing test drills to see if its feasible to run the gas line that is currently attached to the bridge in Salem On through an unopened road allowance that runs off Washington street in Salem On under the river and into Veterans Park. In the first place I strongly disagree with this option knowing that the river can be very turbulent and have seen the changes it can do to the river bed over the last 20 yrs. Having it go through the park right in the very spot where many people have been married long before I moved in and god knows where after that. We as residents of Wellington County should have been asked if we wanted this option firstly. I can imagine the bill for using a million dollar Drilling machine isn’t going to be cheap. Perhaps a better solution would be to rebuild the Dam wall and incorporate the pipe into that, which would be solving two problems instead of spending all that money to put a pipe under the river. Why does it need to be moved period? If we as residents have a say I say not under the river and going through our Park. Please say no to the Gas pipe line going under the Irvine River and through Veterans park thank you Dave Authier.
