I had to pay for my college education, as well as my children's. Now I am expected to pay for criminals' college educations! No way!

How can you justify cutting funds to schools all over the state and giving to the people that choose to not follow the laws or rules of society. I am all for helping people get back on their feet, however this is a joke. If you give more to the schools and take time counsel the young confused people there will not be as many in the jails. The children are the future of this state. If you want a better NYS you have to start with the children. This proposal makes me very sad.

I have student loans and follow the law. Why not pay and reward people who contribute to society. NYS makes breaking the law and rules more attractive. I am a 28 yr healthcare consultant I

2.725M/YR? Offer instead to encumber half this amount each year so that at risk students who have acheived scholastically & not become felons can compete for scholarship $$ to have their school debt reduced. Offering a premium to felons who are already having their day to day expenses taken care of -- and already have access to educational resources -- is bass ackwards!

It's so ridiculous that you have to be a bad person for free schooling and people like me bust ass to make ends meet.

I have family and friends who bust their butt daily working and trying to survive who can't afford college. They are good human beings/citizens that don't get in trouble or cause problems and they don't get help from anyone! People don't go to jail for doing good things so no they should not get to do this.

Complete nonsense!! I struggle to send my kids to college AND they will have college loans to pay when they are done. Criminals should NOT get a free college education while good, law abiding citizens have to work hard and do without to send their children to college

Why is it okay for law abiding citizens to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to get a higher education resulting in years of debt, when criminals can get it for free? That's not right.

I am completely against this. It is sad that this is even being considered when people ho haven't broken the law can't afford to send their children to college.

Make the it part of their parole release that they have to go to college, so they can pay for it themselves like I have been trying to do for my 2 girls currently in college now!

I am not going to support this when I am struggling to feed my family and trying to pay back my own college loans. Not to mention I have three children that will be going to college within the next 3-7 years and I am sure Cuomo's plan will not help me out with their tuition either.

Adequately fund public schools and college students who have not broken the law first. Jail is a punbishment and a free education is not punishment.
