It's bad enough that I have to support the people in this state, through the welfare system, who choose not to work and contribute to society, and now the Governor wants my tax dollars to pay for the education of criminals when school districts are continually struggling financially and hard-working, tax paying families are struggling to pay for their own children's education? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! How I wish I could designate where my tax dollars would go to.

Why should a criminal get an education that I can't even afford?

I believe in rehabilitation, but these seems to be a reward fior bad behavior. With the rising cost of college tuition, a college degree is a luxury that many law-abiding, hard-working citizens can't afford. Why not reward those who don't break the law with reduced tuition costs and low-interest loans?

I am so angry when I have two grandchildren at top of their class wating to see if they can afford to go to college in the fall. What financial burdens will they have to carry when they earn a degree?
Thank You for fighting this! I can't afford college for myself, I certainly don't want to pay for it for somone in prison!

At a time when tuition assistance has been cut drastically for middle class families, this legislation is a slap in the face.

What a roll model. Teaching society that bad behavior gets rewarded with free college. I think I pay enough tax dollars supporting everything they already get in prison.

How can we, on the one hand, make it harder and harder for students to make their way through college by reducing State supports, and at the same time consider spending even MORE State funds to GIVE a college education to those who flagrantly disregarded the State's (and the Country's) own rules/laws. It flies in the face of those working so hard (and often not succeeding) at finding the money to better themselves.

Free college classes to those who have broken our laws and are now in prison is a slap in the face to all the law abiding, hardworking, taxpaying families who have scrimped and saved to send their children to college and to those students who took out loans in order to get a degree. I wholeheartedly oppose using my tax dollars to reward criminals with a free education on my dime. Let them work and earn it themselves like the rest of us!
