This is totally rediculious! We work full time jobs and fight to keep the tutition bills paid for on time. If you are going to help people why not help the people that are actually need help. Neither one of my kids got any help it is being paid all out of out pockets. My husband was on unemployment and we are still paying for his coolege loan. This is uncalled for and a great way to make poeple move out of NY.

enough is enough! our tax money is spent on free food, free money, free phones for all the "criminals" who aren't in prison. .>The welfare scum! Now they want to reward criminals with free education? I think not! Their choice to committ whatever crime they committed, they should be paying however they can to get an education. My son & daughter are paying back thousands in student loans I for sure will not give my vote to Cuomo. Or any politico who backs this ridiculous law!! ENOUGH!

support the people who aren't in prison. prisoners don't deserve free college. Students fresh out of high school ready to enter the real world deserve free college. If prisoners want an education make them work to pay for it. stop giving convicts the easy life!

Absolutely not! I can understand some vocationl training, but free college? Better to be proactive BEFORE people go to jail and give more aid to those ready and deserving.

I teach at a community college and have seen law-abiding, hard-working, smart, motivated students have to drop out of college because they could not afford it. This included a veteran who was not able to afford going to school on the GI Bill since he also owned a house. I cannot support this bill knowing how hard my students are struggling. Let's help and reward those who are on the right path, first.

Rewards are for deserving hard working honest law abiding citizens, not for those to choose to disregard humanity and social laws meant for safety and order.

This is absurd! Honest, hardworking people pay through their teeth for an education. What kind of message is this sending to our young people...do the crime and get rewarded.

this should never pass our college students have worked so hard for their degree and are law abiding citizens and when they are out of college they have a hard time finding a job, that is why we are number 1 in transits, they recieve money in prison let them pay the loan like everyone else maybe it would be appriciated common sense tells you ..you hand it to them they don't care work for it and they will learn

This will negatively affect our higher education systems and college graduation rates. These rates determine which schools receive the federal title IV aid. I WORK at a college and I can't even get a free education. Prisoners are luckily that colleges accept them for admission. They can pay for their education just like everyone else.

Educate young people who want to learn and will not end up in prison.

I am less and less impressed with this governor - is there not a true Democrat here to challenge him? He is more repub than many repubs.

Give that money to high school students that need help.
