This is another way for criminals to get rewarded for their crimes. Programs should be awarded before a life of crime. Let's put some money into those kind of programs that will help students get jobs right from high school. Utilize BOCES programs and add back in home ec.

It's just not fair. I sacrifice to pay my student loans and I make sure that I'm a law abiding citizen. This is outrageous!

I'm still paying back student loans and I have never been in trouble so why should I pay for a criminal's education as we'll!

this is to let you know that several young people who have HUGE DEBTS , trying to pay off their education; cant we somehow help them instead, as everyone know middle class people are not generally thought about when it comes to anything let alone helping these

While I support educating prisoners so that they have a chance when they get out, I cannot get behind this when the state of our educational system for law abiding citizens is in such shambles. Stop common core first, then worry about the prisioners.

This is so dumb. Why do criminals deserve a free education when law-abiding citizens like me have to pay thousands that we can't really afford??

No free college.Give them a loan that has to be paid back just like everyone else.

This plan is not what is best for New York State citizens. Yes, as Mr. Cuomo stated, it is called the Department of Corrections; however inmates need to be taught the basics of living in a civilized society before the chance to earn an advanced education. Law abiding, honest, decent residents are being stretched every day. We need the break. When convicts finish paying their debt to society and released they can do what the rest of us do. They can find an entry level job, start from the ground up and work hard to obtain "things."

Why bother trying to raise your kids to be law abiding and productive? They should just do drugs not work, rob go to jail and get everything handed to them - even college now!!

Free to prisoners - NO WAY. Our kids pay and now he wants them to pay theirs and give prisoners a free ride. Absolutely NOT
